Kees (pronounced ‘case’) was born in Holland in 1947. His family came to Canada in 1951 and became Canadian citizens in 1964. After graduation from an Ontario high school, he began a successful banking career that spanned over sixteen years. In 1971, he met Faith. They were married in 1972 and have two adult children. Kees accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Saviour and received his call to the ministry in April of 1981.
Kees graduated from RHEMA Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK in 1985 and has been an ordained minister since then.
Unable to work secularly because of U.S. immigration laws while at Bible school in the U.S., Kees and the family experienced first-hand God’s miraculous provision to meet their financial needs during the two years of training at RHEMA.
In 1990, five years after graduation, God’s apostolic commission upon his life became evident. Holy Spirit re-directed him to Matthew 9:35-38, one particular scripture given to him in 1981 to confirm his calling. God’s apostolic calling to plant new churches became clear. Since then, eight churches have been pioneered. In addition to church planting Kees is a speaker at ministerial conferences and an instructor at three Bible schools. He has also been president and treasurer of local ministerial organizations, a guest host and panelist in a live, open-line, Christian television program. In August 2011, Kees was awarded the degree of Doctor of Divinity by Dr. R.E. Anderson of the School of Bible Theology Seminary and University in recognition of his then over twenty-six years of faithful service to the Body of Christ. In 2012, he was divinely healed of lymphoma, a condition doctors said was not curable.
His divine mandate is to convert God’s people from religion and tradition to His uncompromising Word. Consequently, Kees is a strong advocate of the local church and its role in the spiritual growth and development of the Christian (1 Timothy 3:15). Currently, Kees is the senior pastor of Faith Alive Christian Church in Barrie, ON which he pioneered with his wife.
Faith was born in Toronto in 1947 and was raised and educated there. Her early spiritual life was spent in the Anglican (Episcopal) Church. Faith accepted Jesus when she was 7 years of age. At 19 years of age, she was baptized in the Holy Spirit and received her call to the ministry. She held positions with the Ontario Department of Labour, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ontario Provincial Police before resigning in 1973 to start a family. She has personally experienced the healing power of God in her own life.
Faith graduated from RHEMA Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK in 1985 and has been an ordained minister since then. The calling upon her life has proven to be a challenge to fulfill because of the religious traditions which exist pertaining to women in the pulpit. Notwithstanding, she co-pastors with her husband and is just as much a part of the apostolic call, for it was to her that God first spoke regarding the planting of churches. He compared them to lighthouses on a channel filled with danger. From these churches, the Word of God is to flow bringing hope and faith by illuminating the pathway of the saints in a world filled with darkness.
Faith has a strong desire to teach and train God’s people, to make disciples and equip them to do the work of the ministry as instructed in Ephesians 4:12. She is a speaker at leadership and ministerial conferences, women’s advances and is an instructor at two Bible schools. Currently, Faith co-pastors Faith Alive Christian Church in Barrie, ON with her husband which they pioneered together.
